To cover the ever increasing costs of our work you can help by
sponsoring one of our animals or cages.
In return you will receive an attractive certificate, a photograph
of your chosen animal, a wildlife fact sheet plus news on how your
money is being spent.
In addition to the
treatment and subsequent release of wildlife that we treat we also
have a growing collection of permanent residents who cannot be released
back to the wild including:
|
Bart
|
A male red fox found wandering
in Sutton Park, Birmingham with a collar on - obviously
kept as a
'pet'. Approximately 9 years old.
Sponsorship
rate: £50 for
6 months, £100 for 12 months.
|
|
|
|
Humbug
|
A male barn owl, bred in captivity
& hand-reared. Humbug is now 16 years old.
Sponsorship rate:
£25 for 6 months, £50 for 12 months.

|
|
|
Gizmo
|
A Bengalese eagle owl, age unknown.
Gizmo has been at the Centre since 1993. He was picked up
by the RSPCA after being found wandering in Gloucester High
Street!
Sponsorship rate:
£25 for 6 months, £50 for 12 months.

|
|
Uno
|
A
silver fox. Silver foxes are usually bred for their magnificent
fur. Uno is one of nine that were saved from being shot
after being abandoned on a private estate in Scotland. Uno
is now 10 years old.
Sponsorship rate:
£50 for 6 months, £100 for 12 months.

|
|
|
Noah
|
A male red fox, brought to us
in June 1997 when only about 4 months old, but already too
tame for release. Although we tried to introduce him to
the wild cubs that we had in at the time, it soon became
obvious that he would not cope in the wild. He has now joined
our other tame foxes & has also achieved television stardom
on the fictional vet series 'Noah's Ark'!!
Sponsorship rate:
£50 for 6 months, £100 for 12 months.

|
|
|
Herman
|
Herman is a European eagle owl
(bubo bubo), hatched at the Centre and hand-reared
by staff after being rejected by his parents. He is very
tame and often accompanies us to schools and colleges to
try and educate children (and parents) and help them to
understand that birds of prey, and the larger owls in particular,
do not make good pets.
Sponsorship rate:
£25 for 6 months, £50 for 12 months.

|
Cilla
|
Cilla the emu arrived at the
Hospital at the beginning of January 2005. She had come
from another centre and wasn’t in particularly good condition
when she was brought in.
After a course of antibiotics
for several wounds and bruises that she had, and some physiotherapy
for her leg problems, she is now in our paddocks, sharing
her home with ‘Coco’ the fallow deer and ‘Rodney’ the roe
deer.
Sponsorship rate:
£50 for 6 months, £100 for 12 months.

|
|
Rodney
|
Rodney the roe deer was only
a matter of days old when he was brought in to the hospital
in May 2004 after being found in the road and taken to a
local vet.
He received treatment for his
injuries and, because he was so young he had to be bottle
fed for several months and he therefore became too tame
to be released. He is now one of our permanent residents
at the centre in Beckford.
Sponsorship rate:
£50 for 6 months, £100 for 12 months.
