On this page
you will find a story in pictures of the building of our new
hospital. An activity that should have taken only a few months
took over a year! The photos below are low resolution thumbnails
to speed up the display of this page. To view a larger version

Sept / Oct 2000 - Unfortunately
progress on the building was delayed as the original
sub-contractors went in to liquidation. A new sub-contractor
was appointed and work recommenced in November 2000

In January 2001 we hit problems
with our new contractors
- as a result it was decided by the Trustees that contractors
should be asked to leave and we would now work directly
with the builders to get it finished. However this now
meant a completion cost of at least £50,000 more
than the original contract price!!!
But at last the work is
underway and nearing completion. See the final stages

Now that we have moved in
to the new building we are obviously very pleased and
relieved as we don't think that our old building would
have seen us through another winter. However the delays
and other issues throughout the building work have resulted
in a significant increase in the building costs.
Therefore we are continuing with our fund raising activities
to help pay for the additional building costs and to
equip more areas of the building. If you would like
to support us in this work please see the
'how to help' area of this
web site (click on the highlighted link to go to the
page).
