Our objectives -
Vale Wildlife Rescue's
running costs are now around £12,500 per month. It is therefore difficult enough
keeping the Charity ticking over, let alone funding special projects and
building needs. The potential for this Rescue Centre is immense and its
contribution to the preservation of our wildlife invaluable. However, without
regular sponsorship its survival depends on fund-raising and donations. It is
therefore vitally important that every opportunity to promote the Charity and
raise money is seized. To achieve this we need committed support, which we are trying to obtain by forming a team who can work together, spreading the load.
There are many fetes to
attend during the short summer season, as well as innovative ideas suggested to
us that are well worth pursuing. There are also many regular events that we hold
ourselves e.g. car boot sales and jumble sales. With efficient organisation of a
group of supporters, we could do them all and encourage supporters to develop
areas that particularly inspire them.
Even more importantly,
Open Day, our major fund-raiser, could be even more successful given plenty more
manpower to share the responsibilities and planning.
Examples of ways you can
help:
-
setting up a donation bin for
tinned pet food at your local supermarket
-
holding a collecting tin at an
arranged location e.g. supermarket foyers
-
jumble sales, either helping
at ours or arranging your own*
-
car boot sales*
-
promotional work and gift shop
sales at organised events helping to plan, organise and run our Open Day
-
organising / participating in
sponsored events
-
seeking sponsorship / support
from local companies
We can offer help and advice on anything
that you may wish to attempt and, by working as part of a team, no-one need be
over burdened.
* There is always a supply of jumble,
bric-a-brac, books, records, toys etc. at the Centre should you need it for
jumble sales, car boots etc.
If you are interested in
helping us in this way, please contact us on 01386 882288 or email
to discuss how you can
become involved. We assure you, it's good fun and very satisfying.
