Exciting News—Planning Permission Granted!!
In March
2007 we received the great news that planning permission
has been granted by Wychavon District Council for our proposed
Education and Training Centre (see the plans below).
Once built, this centre will enable us to greatly expand the
educational work that we do. We will run regular courses in
wildlife first aid and rehabilitation for students and for the
general public, we will be able to cater for bigger groups of
animal care students from colleges and we will also be able
to offer inexpensive accommodation to students from all over
Europe who are looking for work experience placements at wildlife
hospital establishments. Situated right next to our existing
Hospital building, we will be able to offer a much more ‘hands-on’
method of teaching which we have not been able to give when
going out to colleges to lecture.
The
new unit will include a teaching area capable of seating 30
people with desks, or up to 50 people seated, and it will have
temporary living accommodation for up to six people whilst on
work experience. We will also be able to invite other groups
in to give talks and lectures, and possibly hire the space out
for other talks or conferences.
If you can help, in any way at all, to raise the
£350,000+
that we now need to build this exciting facility, then please
let us know. Spread the word amongst friends, family and work
colleagues, organise a fundraising event or sponsored ‘something’
, suggest trusts which we can apply for grants to, or simply
send us a huge cheque!!!!!
All contributions to the appeal will be most gratefully accepted!!
