Happy New Year to All Our Supporters

We cannot thank you all enough for the support that you have given to Vale Wildlife Hospital over the past 12 months –                             without this we quite simply wouldn’t be here today.

It has been a tough year for everyone and the charity has felt this as much, if not more, than most.

Our costs have risen massively to a point where, very worryingly, our expenses are now exceeding our income.

Those of you who have been supporters for many years will remember the difficult financial times we encountered in the early days,                                             finding ourselves on the brink of closure on more than one occasion.

We thought that those days were behind us but sadly last year has showed us that Vale is still in a very vulnerable position.

We will therefore be urging everyone to help us out in 2024 (our 40th Anniversary year) to make sure that we can continue to treat and      rehabilitate the increasing number of casualties that are brought in to us.

Please donate, organise a fundraiser, recruit people to our Membership scheme or simply spread the word about the work that we do and the costs involved (current running costs are almost £2,000 every day).

Thank you again for your continued support and we hope that you enjoyed your Christmas and that 2024 brings you everything you wish for.

If you can pass this on to anyone who may be able to help, here are some options for how to donate:

A single or regular donation can also be made through Charities Aid Foundation (by direct debit, card or Paypal) at CAF donate or through                                     Paypal (card or Paypal account) at Paypal donate

To set up a regular subscription by direct debit please follow this link Gocardless Direct Debit                                                                                Once you have completed the direct debit mandate you need to let us know how much you want to give and how often and we will then complete                   the set-up process. You will receive confirmation from GoCardless.

To contribute by BACS our bank details are: Vale Wildlife Hospital, sort code: 08-92-99, A/C no: 65363025 –                                                         please make sure you include your name and Membership No (if known).

Send a cheque, payable to Vale Wildlife Hospital, to our usual address (at the bottom of this email).

The UK’s wildlife faces more problems today than ever before and unfortunately most of these problems are caused by people. A vast majority of the casualties we treat at Vale have sustained their injuries through coming into contact with humans: road traffic accidents, cat and dog attacks, fence injuries, mower and strimmer incidents, habitat loss, building work, new roads, snares, the list is endless. Some people say that injured wildlife should be left alone, we shouldn’t interfere but should ‘let nature take it’s course’. I would agree wholeheartedly with that sentiment if indeed the problems encountered by our wildlife were ‘natural’ but very few are, and I believe we have a duty to try to put right the damage that we are doing.
